State Sergeant Becomes Risk Advisor at HNI

Abrahamson, Mark.jpgAfter 27 years on patrol, Sergeant Mark Abrahamson is joining HNI as a Risk Advisor to help transportation companies operate safer.

Mark's time on the road has given him a wealth of knowledge in DOT Compliance, FMCSA rules & regulations, and most importantly how driver behavior impacts safety.

During his time with the State Patrol, Mark concentrated on helping carriers navigate complex regulations. In his role at HNI, Mark's extensive experience will allow him to de-risk business by bridging the gap between driver behaviors and their employer.

De-Risking the Transportation Industry

As a Motor Carrier Enforcement Investigation Unit Supervisor (MCEIU) at the Wisconsin State Patrol Headquarters, Sergeant Abrahamson was responsible for the scheduling, evaluation, field supervision, and program management for the Compliance Review, New Entrant, and Data Quality programs. He also participated in the FMCSA Passenger Technical Advisory Committee promoting safe passenger vehicle operation and effective training and education to federal, state, and local MCSAP partners and the industry.

"Compliance is only one part of the safety puzzle. Driver buy-in along with carrier accountability is what truly makes up a culture of safety."

Having a background so deeply rooted in DOT Compliance has given Mark the ability to see the transportation industry from a side that motor carriers don't get to see. In an industry that is undergoing significant changes - from new regulations to shifting economic factors - Mark is able to help companies develop a GamePlan to de-risk their businesses.

Mark will be working directly with the leadership teams of HNI's clients.
