Legal-palooza
A legal workshop for trucking companies, presented by Scopelitis.
February 26th, Harley-Davidson Museum, Milwaukee

What is Legal-palooza?

The legal environment for trucking companies is more challenging than ever. Large settlements are empowering plaintiffs attorneys to be more aggressive than ever. Any missteps you make in areas like driver data and safety scores can put you at a disadvantage.

LegalPalooza is a crash course on how to make sure you don't get slammed with a huge settlement in the event of a crash. It will be led by the nation's leading transportation defense law firm: Scopelitis.

 WORKSHOP AGENDA

Accidents Happen – How To Get the Best Resolution Possible
  1.
BEST PRACTICES: How a rapid response can help minimize claim costs.
We will take a look at the first step to resolving claims by reviewing policies and procedures put in place before any accident, as well as the effect of the rapid response on bringing the cost of claims down.

THE IMPACT OF VENUE: How the law of comparative and contributory negligence in each state alters the value of a claim.
We will discuss negligence law generally and, more specifically, how the laws change depending on the location of your accident.   We will review examples of how these varying laws change the potential value of case and how the information can be used to properly triage accident claims.

TECHNOLOGY UPDATE: How dashcams and inward facing cameras change the value of your case.
We will provide a technology update with special consideration of the implementation and effect of dashcams (inward and outward) on the value of claims, pre-suit resolutions, and litigation.

CLAIM VALUATION: How to value a claim and get reasonable settlements.
We will discuss all the factors that go into claim valuation and how to use this information to get claims settled at the right price.
