Where is all the talent?

We often talk about culture and attracting quality talent into our organizations.  Where are all the good people?  How do we find the right employees?

Yesterday I became aware of an organization that supports what might be the most deserving pool of talent available.

Imagine a talent pool with people that all have this experience:

  • Leadership training and experience
  • Physically fit and drug free
  • Have a “can do” attitude
  • Calm under pressure
  • On time, all the time
  • Dedicated to serve
  • Have a global perspective
  • Trainable and adaptable

Hero 2 Hired is an organization dedicated to helping those with military experience bring their proven leadership to the civilian workforce. They assist unemployed reserve component service members in finding a job placement, and to employers they provide free, direct access to qualified candidates.

Through Hero 2 Hired, employers can browse resumes of a pool of talent who already have background checks and security clearances, which can help reduce recruiting and hiring costs.

There are a number of other organizations as well with similar goals.  Hire a Hero and Employer Supoort of the Guard and Reserve [ESGR] are other organizations that offer ways for employers to support those with military experience.

If you’re hiring, check out these websites and find how easy it is to support those that serve to protect our freedoms:
